>>a zine for the 2017 No Boundaries conference

The Arts’ Guide to Fandom is a zine created for delegates at the No Boundaries arts industry conference in Manchester and Hull, March 2017.

With original fanfic and art from contributors based all over the world, and featuring fan projects that have grown to have significant influence in their own right, this zine presents a culture of participation that is actively reimagining and reclaiming the canon.

A digital version is available to read online.

A short film – ⚡ Fantastic Geeks and Why To Get Behind Them ⚡ – was also made with Harry Potter fan Philippa Peall and fan studies academic Dr Rebecca Williams. Filming and editing by Phoebe Holman.

No Boundaries 2017 was supported by Arts Council England and British Council, and produced by Home Manchester, Hull Truck, and Hull City of Culture 2017.
